Local leaders, community partners, and East Central ISD representatives gathered on October 13, 2025, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the United Way East Central ISD Family Resource Center, located inside Pecan Valley STEM Academy (3966 E. Southcross).

The new center serves as a central hub of support for ECISD families, providing access to free resources such as hygiene products, basic needs, and connections to community programs and services. Families with children attending East Central ISD schools can receive assistance at no cost.

The facility is part of the Driving Possibilities initiative, a collaborative effort between the Toyota USA Foundation, United Way, DePelchin Children’s Center, and Texas A&M University–San Antonio’s Institute for School and Community Partnerships, in partnership with East Central ISD.

Through collaboration and care, East Central ISD and its partners continue to build stronger connections that help families thrive and students succeed.
