LISA STALLARD

Mrs. Barnes is homegrown and a proud graduate of East Central ISD, from elementary to graduation. After completing her Bachelor of Science and Master's in Education at Prairie View A&M University in 2006, Mrs. Barnes chose to serve the district that raised her. Over the past 16 years, she has dedicated herself to ECISD, starting as a teacher at Salado Elementary, then as a Reading Coach at Salado, followed by her role as assistant principal and academic dean at Legacy Middle School.

Under her leadership as principal of Oak Crest, Mrs. Barnes implemented continuous improvement strategies that significantly raised the school's performance from a D to a B rating according to TEA’s accountability system. This achievement reflects her transformative leadership style and shows her dedication to fostering student growth, empowering teachers, and developing leaders to reach their fullest potential.

Mrs. Barnes, her husband, and their loyal dog, Ella, are proud community members. Her homegrown roots and commitment to educational excellence make her the ideal candidate for Chief Instructional Officer.
