East Central ISD Earns National GOLD Award for Excellence in Summer Meals Program

East Central ISD is proud to announce that our district has been recognized with the GOLD Turnip the Beet Award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for excellence in our Summer Meals Program!

This national award honors school districts that go above and beyond to serve nutritious, high-quality, and appealing meals to children during the summer months. ECISD is one of only a few programs in the country to earn the GOLD distinction—the highest level awarded.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our Child Nutrition team, students across East Central continued to receive fresh, delicious meals—even when school was out. We’re also grateful for the support of parents, families, and community members who help us keep students healthy and nourished year-round.
