Amy Lively named the new principal for Oak Crest Elementary

Amy Lively named the new principal for Oak Crest Elementary
LISA STALLARD

This appointment comes as we prepare for a smooth transition with Joette Barnes moving to her new role as the district's Chief Instructional Officer. Ms. Lively joins us from Mary Branch Elementary in Bryan ISD, where she has served as principal for the past five years. Mary Branch is a campus similar to Oak Crest, serving bilingual students. Under her leadership, the school experienced tremendous academic growth, highlighting her dedication and effectiveness. Her tenure there was marked by a strong commitment to fostering a positive school culture, enhancing academic performance, engaging parent participation, and cultivating a growth mindset among her 600+ students and 80 staff members.

Prior to her successful role at Mary Branch, Ms. Lively gained extensive experience in educational leadership as an assistant principal, dean of instruction, and teacher within the Bryan Independent School District. She earned her Master’s in Education Administration and Principal Certification from Sam Houston State University in 2014.

She is excited to relocate to the San Antonio area and join our wonderful community and team. She is accompanied by her fiancé, Spencer, and their spirited blue heeler, Clyde. The couple is looking forward to their wedding this November. Please join us in warmly welcoming Ms. Amy Lively to her new role at Oak Crest Elementary!
