Careers

Erica Jackson New Principal

It is with great pleasure that we officially announce Ms. Erica Jackson as the new Principal of CAST Lead High School.

Ms. Jackson is no stranger to the CAST Lead community, having previously served as the interim principal. Her journey within our district is a testament to her unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership. Before stepping into her role as interim principal, Ms. Jackson contributed significantly as an assistant principal at CAST and, before that, as an assistant principal and math instructional facilitator at Legacy Middle School. Her passion for education and leadership was evident early in her career when she joined ECISD in 2015 as a math teacher. Further highlighting her commitment to educational excellence, Ms. Jackson was a proud participant in the inaugural cohort of our District's Aspiring Principals Program, part of the "Leading the EC Way" initiative.

Ms. Jackson's academic background is equally impressive; holding an MBA in Accounting and Finance and a BBA in Finance from the University of North Texas.

We are confident that under Ms. Jackson's leadership, CAST Lead High School will continue providing a nurturing environment that fosters our students' growth, learning, and success. Her vision and leadership are key to propelling our school forward, ensuring that our students are equipped to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Pre-K Registration

East Central ISD currently offers full-day Pre-K to ANY and ALL children who are four years of age on or before September 1, 2024 AND live in East Central ISD!

The district's Pre-K program aims to meet the needs of more students by offering a tuition-free option for 4-year-olds who don’t meet state eligibility requirements.  While the program is free for all families, they'll still need to fill out federally-required qualifying paperwork to enroll.

Pre-K registration is a TWO-PHASE process that begins after February 1, 2024. Most of the Pre-K registration process can be completed electronically.

Academic Calendars

The Board of Trustees approved the school year calendars not only for the upcoming academic year (2024-2025) but also for the subsequent year (2025-2026).

At the Jan. 18 School Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the school year calendars not only for the upcoming academic year (2024-2025) but also for the subsequent year (2025-2026). We understand the importance of planning ahead, and it is with great pleasure that we share this information with you.

After careful consideration of two proposed options, taking into account valuable feedback from our community, and making some minor revisions based on that feedback, the Board approved Option 2 for the next two academic years. We believe that this decision will provide our families and staff the opportunity to plan their vacations, appointments, and other commitments well in advance.

One of the significant features of Option 2 is the introduction of a Fall Break in October. This break is designed to offer students and teachers a much-needed rest during the fall semester, mirroring the concept of a Spring Break. Our intention behind this addition is to ensure that everyone in our school community remains refreshed and energized, fostering a positive and conducive environment for learning and growth.

To assist you in keeping track of these important dates, we recommend saving or printing this document for easy reference.
