East Central ISD is proud to announce Mrs. Margarita Lozano as the inaugural principal of Victory STEM Academy, opening in Fall 2026 to serve elementary students in the southern part of the district. With experience as a teacher, facilitator, and assistant principal, Mrs. Lozano brings a strong commitment to student success, staff development, and a positive school culture. A proud ECISD parent and dedicated leader, she is excited to build a team focused on excellence and ready to shape the future of Victory STEM Academy.

Hollie Helmke, East Central High School’s Class of 2025 Valedictorian, turned her childhood passion for engineering into a national victory. From building cardboard vending machines to leading her Electathon team to first place in a national electric car race, Hollie’s story shows how creativity and drive can lead to big wins.

The EC Softball Team made school history with their thrilling run to the UIL Class 6A Division I State Semifinals — the first time the program has advanced this far and the first time any ECHS team has reached this level in 28 years!

East Central ISD is proud to welcome Jaime Jaén as the new principal of Legacy Middle School. His leadership comes at a key moment as the campus begins its work as an Accelerating Campus Excellence school through a TEA grant.

The Texas Education Agency has released the 2023 A–F accountability ratings, based primarily on STAAR scores and other indicators. East Central ISD is taking strategic, student-centered actions to build on this data and ensure long-term academic growth.

The 75th Anniversary Parade & Spring Festival on March 29, 2025, brought our East Central ISD community together for an unforgettable day filled with joy, pride and connection. From the spirited student groups to the smiling faces, every moment was a celebration of our rich history.

During Signing Day, parents will complete their child’s registration at designated stations. Each student will then "sign" a special certificate to celebrate the start of their Pre-K or Kindergarten adventure. Families can also snap a photo to mark this exciting first step in their educational journey!

East Central ISD was honored to host the 2025 Special Olympics Texas Area 20 San Antonio Spring Games on March 7-8 at Hornet Stadium. This inspiring event brought together athletes, families, and supporters for camaraderie and celebration.

Toyota's Driving Possibilities initiative is investing up to $6.5 million in East Central ISD to boost STEM education, family support, and career readiness. In partnership with Texas A&M-San Antonio and United Way, the program will enhance learning and workforce development.

CAST Lead High School unveiled its new Makerspace, designed by graduate Gracie Polasek, winner of the 2024 Rather Prize for Innovation. Her three-year project in interior design earned CAST Lead a $10,000 prize, bringing her vision to life.

Mrs. Aboueisha, nominated in 2021 while managing a hybrid science classroom, has earned the 2025 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), the nation’s highest honor for K-12 math and science educators.
