Zahely Maldonado, daughter of Chris and Gricelda Maldonado strived to achieve a lasting, positive impression throughout her four years at East Central High School. Zahely greatly dedicated her time serving four years on the Honeybee Varsity Dance Team, three of them holding the officer positions of 1st Lieutenant, Lt. Colonel, and was granted the honor of acting as Colonel her Senior year. During her time on this team she earned numerous awards for Choreography, Showmanship, and held titles of All Star Dancer and Elite Performer. Her passion for dance pushed her to continue her training while volunteering hundreds of hours at her local family owned dance studio as an Assistant Teacher. She spent the last five years teaching dance to young children in hopes of passing this beautiful artform down to future generations. Despite this heavy extracurricular workload, Zahely took numerous AP classes, and was a member of National Honor Society, PALS, and the EC Green Team. She will continue her education at the University of Texas at Austin attending the school of Liberal Arts. Zahely would like to thank all of her teachers, coaches, family, and friends for their constant support and motivation throughout her lifetime.
