Kerae Jones

Kerae has been a Hornet her whole life, being in the ECISD school district for 14 years. From kinder through 12th grade, Kerae dedicated herself to taking challenging classes and applying herself as much as possible. At a young age, she was placed in the Dual Language Program to challenge her academic ability, and actively participated in the program for seven years. During her high school career, Kerae has taken several Advanced Placement courses and has been an active member of the National Honor Society. Kerae has been awarded the Academic Achievement Award two times, once for AVID and once for PreAp PreCalculus. In addition to that, she has been on the varsity tennis team for three years, and was the Team Captain her senior year. Kerae has been accepted to the University of Texas at Austin, and will be attending the Cockrell School of Engineering in the fall of 2021, majoring in Electrical Engineering. Despite all the challenges she has faced throughout her life, Kerae persevered and continued to work hard towards her academic and personal goals. Kerae would like to thank God for providing her with the family, teachers, coaches, and peers who have taught her to persevere through challenges and lead by example, no matter the circumstance.
