East Central's Summa Cum Laude Graduates Achieve Highest Academic Honor
Shelby Hofmann, a dedicated and accomplished student, will be attending the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Throughout her high school years, she excelled academically, participated in various extracurricular activities, and received numerous awards for her achievements in academics and the arts.
Gabriella Pacheco, the second highest-ranking student at East Central High School, will be studying Film at the University of Texas at Austin's Moody College of Communication, having received multiple scholarships and awards for her academic and extracurricular achievements. Gabby has excelled academically, served in leadership roles in various clubs, and produced award-winning films and documentaries, demonstrating her determination, perseverance, and artistic talent.
During high school, Hope Luensmann excelled in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, receiving numerous awards and accolades. She will be attending the nursing school at The University of Texas at Austin with plans to become a nurse practitioner and engage in missionary work in the future.
Gavin Kennemore excelled academically and participated in various extracurricular activities during his time at East Central, including track, piano, and FBLA. He is grateful for the support of his parents, teachers, sponsors, and the East Central staff as he looks forward to the next chapter in his life.
Breanna 'Bre' Jimenez has shown exceptional commitment to her community through advocacy and leadership roles, including winning the title of State Champion in Soil Stewardship Prepared Public Speaking and serving as both Junior and Senior Class President. She plans to attend American University in Washington, D.C., to pursue a degree in Political Science, driven by her passion for advocacy and making a positive impact.
Mariana Medrano Sanchez is a high-achieving student-athlete who has excelled in academics and soccer throughout her high school career. She has been accepted to Our Lady of the Lake University for the Fall of 2024, where she plans to pursue a major in biology and continue her passion for soccer as a collegiate student-athlete.
