Standard Response Protocol

Standard Response Protocol

The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is a safety plan designed to work for any type of emergency, rather than focusing on individual situations. It uses clear and consistent language while allowing flexibility depending on the circumstances.

In simple terms, the SRP outlines five specific actions that everyone—students, staff, teachers, and first responders—can take during an emergency. Each action has a specific name, called a “Term of Art,” and a short instruction, called a “Directive.”

The five SRP actions are: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.
