Recognized Emerging Leaders

The Legacy Leaders (Principal, Associate Principal, and Assistant Principals) nominated Fatimah for this award because, in her short time at Legacy, she has consistently pursued and championed student-centered learning through building capacity in our Instructional Facilitators and teachers. She sees the vision of what Legacy Middle School can be and works with our Instructional Leadership Team to articulate verbally and in writing in ways that always align with where Legacy is headed in pursuit of the organization's vision. She has hosted our bi-weekly roundtables to allow teachers to use their voices and feedback to better our organization. As a result, teachers are provided clarity about the work we are doing as an organization and their Beginning of the Year Survey for staff had teachers specifically name Fatimah as a person who is leading the charge and championing the vision of our organization. She does whatever it takes for the campus to meet our goals and to ensure that we are all clear on the vision of our campus, where we are headed, and how we will get there. Fatimah is a game-changer.

Ms. Reyes exemplifies and actualizes a compelling daily vision through her relationships with students and staff. She continuously implements ways for all her students to be leaders by adding visuals around the school that makes learners successful. Ms. Reyes uses all her strategies when implementing a safe, respectful and responsible learning environment for PV students. No matter the student's needs, Ms. Reyes insists that she is the one who supports students in her class and truly meets ALL students for their needs. 

Ferguson exemplifies a purpose-driven, efficient, and student-centered vision through honest messaging that focuses on the best possible student outcomes for the East Central Community. She is persistent in advocating student learning and supports them by strategically master scheduling and supporting teachers. 

Joseph is solution-oriented, always seeking out the individual who can assist and protect our culture with transparent communication. Even with overwhelming class sizes at the start of the year, Joseph embodies above-the-line thinking. This year, he utilized coverage to pull students 1-1 to get to know them. As a second-year teacher, Joseph has taken the lead on several campus initiatives that align directly with the CAST pillars. He facilitates our student council, advocates for students, and promotes teacher collaboration with an open mind. Students are at the center of all he does. 

Cathy Cook plans all professional development activities for our campus that focus on actualizing our vision to ensure our students' success. In addition, she is instrumental in ensuring that our teachers are provided with instructional coaching in those high-leverage instructional strategies that will make the most significant impact on all kids.

Mrs. Obregon champions a purpose-driven, efficient, sustainable, student-centered redirection program at Harmony Elementary. Mrs. O sets the bar high on handling students with care, respect, love and compassion. 

Mr. Garcia champions “doing right by kids.” He goes above and beyond for ALL students. He is always willing to step in and help in any situation. He frequently does it without being asked. He lives and breathes our core beliefs, such as being a team player, accountable, and a positive role model for all stakeholders. Our vision is Every Student, Every Day, In Every Way, and he fully supports that in his actions and words. He constantly works to find ways to connect with all students and support them both academically and emotionally. He is an asset to Highland Forest! 

Ms. Aldrich started her first year at OC and ECISD with a warm demeanor toward the students. She teaches accountability with lots of support, empathy and rigor. Ms. Aldrich has very high expectations for the students she services and those on her caseload. She is always lending a hand, always open to ideas and suggestions, and implements support with fidelity. Ms. Aldrich is a wonderful educator and delivers her visions for her students. So proud of you, Ms. Aldrich!

Mrs. Gallegos is a constant messenger of the Salado vision. She is honest and upholds herself and others around her to what Salado values. Her long tenure at Salado makes her a staple of our organization. She is not afraid to speak up to ensure we hold tight to our vision. Mrs. Gallegos is always student-centered and ensures everything we do is for the students. She is always willing to do what it takes to ensure Salado is represented well. Mrs. Gallegos' contagious attitude and smile motivate others around her. In any role she is given, she ensures she meets the expectations to meet the needs of the staff and students. Mrs. Gallegos is an outstanding example of someone who exhibits the Salado vision daily.

Ms. Botello lives Sinclair's vision of Excellence Everyday for Everyone. She ensures that all students' academic and social needs are met emotionally. She reaches out to community stakeholders to build collaborative relationships to provide opportunities for her students to meet each student's greatest potential. She collaborates with her general education colleagues when her students push into their classes. She is constantly thinking outside the box and shows great flexibility to ensure students have the best opportunities possible.

Kayla Michna exemplifies actualizing a compelling vision here at Tradition. Mrs. Michna goes above and beyond to engage all students in her classroom through activities such as dressing up as Connor the Comparing Cow, Addi the Adding Alligator, and Subi the Subtracting Sea Turtle. Each of these allows her students to connect to foundational math concepts. She gets all stakeholders engaged and excited by sharing her activities with the community through Twitter and Class Dojo. She is an active participant in planning and works to bring innovative ideas to ensure every student can see themselves in the classroom. As a new member of Tradition, she continues to work with her team and the campus to improve and strengthen systems to ensure we "Engage, Encourage, Equip. Every Student, Every Minute. Every Day."

Anna Silva is an outstanding example of an individual who Actualizes a Compelling Vision. She is our librarian, Webmaster, CTC, and a vital member of the Salado Leadership team who holds tight to the Salado vision in her words and actions with all stakeholders. Mrs. Silva always voices the power of the librarians and books in instruction. She continuously partners with the teachers by selecting books, teaching a lesson, or partner teaching. Mrs. Silva supports library events around the district throughout the school year and summer. She was the pioneer of the successful ECISD Battle of the Books competition. She holds clubs like the Bluebonnet book club, running club, and Pokemon club as well.

Mrs. Silva is the official Salado Broadcaster for ensuring all the great things happening at Salado are shared with the community. She is the leader who ensures our students and staff are posted on Twitter, Tides of Pride, Dojo, and the Salado website. Mrs. Silva continues to showcase Salado by hosting family events such as the Patriot Family Bilingual Book Club, Nights for Salado Parents to Check out books, Early Literacy by inviting 3-year-old siblings and their families of our students and overseeing a literacy station at every family evening event. Anna Silva is a visionary in Leading the EC Way.

Miss Moore exemplifies the competencies of the EC Leadership Definition of Actualizing a Compelling Vision through her work with her students and her colleagues. Miss Moore teaches 8th Grade Social Studies as well as 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Humanities - Social Studies. Miss Moore has taught at Heritage Middle School since 2017 and has developed into "that" teacher who has developed a truly student-centered classroom. Her students are engaged in meaningful learning experiences in her classroom every day, participating in History Day, competing in Odyssey of the Mind, or traveling the US during the summer educational tours. She develops positive relationships with her students and seeks feedback from their parents to ensure that their voice is heard. As the 8th Grade Social Studies Lead teacher, Miss Moore skillfully brings her team of teachers together to actualize the vision of our school and department toward the success of our students. She communicates high expectations and holds our team of teachers to those expectations by giving them a voice and providing feedback and encouragement. It has been a joy to see Miss Moore develop into "that" teacher who strives daily to learn and grow. A side note about Miss Moore is that she is an ECHS Graduate of the Class of 2014 and has been working at Heritage MS since her graduation from Abilene Christian University.

Mr. Gonzalez champions a purpose-driven, efficient, sustainable, student-centered vision through honest and consistent messaging that builds consensus that is focused on the best possible student outcomes for the East Central Community. Mr. Gonzalez has championed the cause of student-centered instruction to reach the highest levels of engagement in his classroom. He was selected by the Valero Alamo Bowl 30th Anniversary committee as one of 30 teachers in the San Antonio area for a grant due to his wish to use the money to provide students with more access to needed supplies to continue to push the rigor and student-centeredness in his class. He was awarded $1000. Mr. Gonzalez led a campus professional development session for all teachers at Legacy Middle School in Student-Centered Classrooms. He is a natural, humble leader who is not aware of his impact on the vision of student-centered instruction at Legacy in his room and with teachers on our campus.

Zoey Sanchez is a true leader on campus. She has less than 3 years of experience as a teacher, yet she embodies all the characteristics and qualities of an exceptional EC teacher and leader. This year is her first year as grade-level lead for third grade. She has led the third-grade team to become one of our most successful teams on campus. They have a culture on the team of being data-driven, all-in for ALL kids, and a can-do/positive attitude. This culture directly correlates to Ms. Sanchez’s leadership among her team. She is an exemplary teacher for our instructional models and frequently provides PD sessions, and allows us to record her lessons to help others continue growing in their craft.

She is aligned with the Actualizing Compelling Vision competency because she leads her team by having them live by our vision of Every Student, Every Day, In Every Way. She communicates this vision to others, and it shows daily in her actions. She is flexible and willing to try new things to continue growing professionally. She represents all of our core values, such as holding herself and her students to high expectations. She constantly wants to improve and be the best she can be for students and the campus. Ms. Sanchez is an asset to our campus; her leadership stretches far beyond her third-grade classroom and team.

Mrs. Lozano was nominated because she values promoting shared ownership with all of the committees she oversees. She works hard to build capacity with the AVID and Tier 1 behavior teams. She is exceptional at creating buy-ins because she seeks feedback from various stakeholders and makes adjustments. As a result, everyone understands and drives the vision collectively!

Coach Z has been at PV for almost 30 years and never has a bad day. He is known for all the positive relationships he builds with students who need it the most. He has a passion for nature and mentors our students by caring for plants and animals. He truly makes a connection with all stakeholders in our community.

Mr. Covington gets stakeholders engaged by meeting with teachers, bringing in new initiatives, and coaching teachers. He has created new opportunities for students by creating a chess club, starting the science bowl and a science fair. He motivates our teachers to provide enrichment in the classroom for all learners. He has been flexible and has adjusted his schedule to support teachers. He helped set up a second science lab, picked up materials for science projects, and went above and beyond so that students got the best possible outcomes.

Debra McMeans exemplifies Actualizing a Compelling Vision by continuously engaging, encouraging, and equipping not only students at Tradition Elementary, but also teachers and parents. As the Academic Facilitator, she ensures teachers have both the resources and the instructional practices needed to impact student growth while at the same time pursuing her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. She consistently presumes positive intent and strives to build the capacity and growth of others. She shares her passion for learning with families as well, as she organizes events to support how to help children at home while also providing access to community resources. Mrs. McMeans encourages other educators to share their knowledge in our campus professional development. In doing this, she helps continue to grow leaders on our campus. Our Tradition teachers look up to her as a role model. In addition, she always empowers educators and cultivates leadership skills in others. Mrs. McMeans has a contagious energy that greatly affects teacher satisfaction and increases student performance.

When Titans walk into Mrs. Davenport’s and Mrs. Bachman’s first-grade classroom, they are welcomed with warmth and sincerity. As co-teachers, they are a powerhouse team who share a  collective responsibility to encourage each other to share knowledge of students and best practices,  so they can be more impactful as a collective. You cannot pinpoint the classroom teacher versus the special education teacher when you enter their classroom. They have worked together as a partnership to promote an inclusive environment where “all of our kids” means “all are our kids.” Mrs. Davenport and Mrs. Bachman collaborate during planning to ensure every single student gets what they need and is set up for success. This dynamic duo welcomes all students and provides them with a calm, caring and safe environment. Both teachers have a heart for kids and work tirelessly to ensure that all students are integral to the class. Monica Davenport and Nicole Bachman are the definitions of cultivating culture.

Mrs. Granato is our school nurse and an amazing and essential member of our team. She has demonstrated extreme loyalty to the campus by being here since the campus opened. She attends all parent engagement activities to build relationships with the community and have fun with our students during these events, even though she isn’t required to. She especially likes to see former students who are now parents and have their children coming to Highland Forest. She is all in 110% of our campus and the district and does whatever is needed to help the campus. She lives and breathes our vision of “Every Student, Every Day, in Every Way,” which has become our culture and how we do things here at HF. She is not only the school nurse, but she genuinely cares about all the staff and students and models our Core Beliefs daily in everything she does. 

She goes out of her way to praise and recognize the staff for a job well done. She fosters a culture of safety and responsibility through her daily actions. For example, she sets the tone for being responsible and accountable by holding herself accountable for anything she does, such as parent communication for ill children or alerting the admin of an issue promptly so we can get the students what they need. When anyone thinks of HF, they think of Nurse Granato. She is a leader for our campus and does an exceptional job. 

Daniel Christian is ECHS’s recipient of the Cultivates Culture award. All means all for Mr. Christian. His work to support the campus to meet our attendance goals engages the community and includes all stakeholders, students, parents, teachers, staff and admin alike. He models a growth mindset, as he is constantly yearning for coaching and is eager for feedback. He is quick to celebrate successes and his own challenges that provide opportunities for himself, his department, or even the campus to grow. He is a culture cultivator that models accountability and responsibility with both professionalism and passion. Mr. Christian is a professional with a heart that exhumes care and appreciation for educators and our students. It is with great honor that we recognize him as ECHS’s recipient of the Cultivates Culture award.

Modesta Contreras is an outstanding representative of someone who cultivates culture. She started in our district as an ESL instructional assistant, became a 4th-grade teacher, and is now a bilingual Special Education teacher. Her already humble personality has allowed her to connect with all staff and students because of her vast background. She prides herself on building an inclusive and caring culture that embraces a sense of belonging. Modesta is seen as an outstanding and authentic teacher who is willing to support them academically and behaviorally. She is the type of teacher you can give the most struggling students, and they will outperform others when they are in her class. Students learn a structure and build skills for the future. 

Modesta continuously coaches staff on how to work with students and increase their instructional competency. It is not uncommon for staff to approach her for guidance, or she recommends reaching out for support. She is always willing to model, coach, and provide feedback. Modesta engages in the coaching cycle without even being formally trained. Through her support, she is known for always acknowledging students and staff. She recognizes success and celebrates their effort. She will go above and beyond to make them feel special. This will build the students’ confidence, and they will continue to try it in future assignments. Modesta’s commitment to cultivating Salado’s culture is an example of Leading the EC Way.

Nicole Gawlik is not only an amazing 6th Grade Science Lead Teacher, but she is also an Instructional Facilitator. As an IF, she coaches and collaborates with our Science Teachers to strengthen their delivery of instruction in the classroom. Mrs. Gawlik is also loved by her students. She makes herself available before and after school and during her lunch period to create a safe environment for her students. She builds great relationships with her students, so much so that she listened to their feedback regarding the need to increase our school spirit and is now the Cheer Club sponsor. Our Cheer Club has been cheering on our student-athletes at the Hurricane Volleyball, Football, Basketball, and Soccer games. Heritage MS and the EC Community are very fortunate to have someone like Nicole Gawlik, who cultivates a culture of belonging.  

Mrs. Harber comes every day to serve our EC families here at PV. She is never too busy to support all our students and ensures she finds a way to meet the needs of each one of our students. She is a great support system for families and ensures they have all the necessary resources. For our families, she makes home visits, does lunch bunch, walks students home at the end of the day, waits for students' late arrival so they feel safe when they arrive, responds to student needs immediately during the day, and the list goes on. Not only does she support families but teachers as well. She is always our person to advocate for teachers' needs. She does all of this with a smile and the best attitude. We are lucky and fortunate to have a counselor who has no barriers to meeting student and staff needs. 

Ms. Moody is always working on cultivating the culture at Harmony Elementary.  Ms. Moody heads our Sunshine Committee that organizes events, treats, and activities for the staff to boost and keep morale active! She also heads our Pre-K Punetes program with the community.  She is always looking for ways to engage, motivate and embrace students, staff and the community with a smile on her face!

The "cultivates cultural leadership" competency completely defines Ms. Smith. She is our librarian and campus technology lead, but she is so much more. She creates a space in the library where all students feel welcome and seek a reprieve from day to day where they can engage in fun activities no matter who they are. She also schedules monthly events to boost teacher and staff morale. She is a member of our campus Instructional Leadership Team, speaks on behalf of teachers, and gives a fresh, unique perspective that adds so much value to our team and school. She is innovative, and her ideas are always so refreshing. She has been selected as the Employee of the Month at Legacy for the last 5 years because she exemplifies our campus' core values of Service, Excellence, and Growth. She is integral to the fabric of our Legacy family, and we would not be the same without her. She challenges our ideas in a respectful way so that we see all sides of a situation, and we all respect her for that. Ms. Smith cultivates culture with every interaction.

Mrs. Cardenas is exceptional at communicating effectively with staff, students, teachers and families. She handles an overwhelming amount of work daily with grace, a smile and a love for her job. Mrs. Cardenas has been at PV for 23 years and is a huge system support for other PEIMS Clerks around the district. Often times I see her answer calls from the PA system, ensure students get breakfast and are counted present who arrive late, enroll/withdraw students, and teach another elementary PEIMS clerk information about Asecender over the phone...at the same time!! She has meaningful relationships with families by being empathetic and understanding. All parents leave happy once they interact with Mrs. Cardenas. The PV community is truly blessed to have someone who always advocates and tries everything in her power to give all our families a great EC experience. She is a one-of-a-kind. 

James Perkins is the Special Education Facilitator for Heritage Middle School. His leadership and effective communication skills make our Special Education teachers and classroom assistants comfortable going to him with any concerns, knowing that he will listen and act accordingly to address them. Mr. Perkins is open and honest to feedback. He is timely and concise in communicating with his department and our parents. Mr. Perkins' organizational skills, on top of his effective communication skills, make him the perfect nominee for the leadership definition of an effective communicator.

Diana Craig is able to effectively communicate with parents, teachers, administrators, and students and ensures that all parties understand and receive what they need. The great thing about Diana is that she is unaware of what an impactful and eloquent communicator she is. Rarely does anyone have to ask clarifying questions because she is so thorough with how she communicates with her audience. She is highly intelligent and very humble. She is a champion for our special needs populations, she advocates for them and is not afraid to ask the tough questions, and she typically gets what she asks for because it is always what is in the best interest of our students, parents, and staff. If I needed someone to advocate for me, she would be my first selection. She cares so deeply for all stakeholders; this is apparent in how she communicates and gives feedback. Her viewpoint is so dynamic that our Campus Instructional Leadership team would not be the same without her authenticity and her advocacy. Diana is a servant leader at heart. I know of no one that deserves this honor more than Diana Craig. She is unaware of what a brilliant communicator she is, which makes her even more deserving.

Ms. Olivarri strives to build relationships with her students. These relationships help her create a positive classroom environment where students feel safe and comfortable to develop a love of learning. Her positive "can do" attitude is felt by everyone around her. In addition, she embodies an exceptional work ethic as she works hard to teach through the best instructional practices to grow every student, every day, in every way.

Ms. Caroline Altic is an exceptional member of the Salado family. Her extensive knowledge contributes to the academic growth of our campus. As Program Facilitator and ILT member, Ms. Altic demonstrates truthful and empathetic feedback that ensures all staff members can embrace current practices geared to improve student outcomes. She effectively keeps ongoing communication with our staff members regarding students’ academic/behavior progress, testing accommodations/modifications, and referral process for Special Ed./ Dyslexia and 504 students, and serves as the TELPAS, ALC, and Campus Testing Coordinator.

Ms. Altic is an active listener to the concerns of students’ academic needs and uses diverse perspectives to make decisions aimed at students’ success. She patiently assists staff members in understanding how to analyze data with the purpose of generating targeted lessons. Ms. Altic makes time to meet with teachers one-on-one before, during, and/or after school for individualized support. She ensures RTI/MTSS instruction is delivered daily by teachers and other staff members. One of her specialties is to go above and beyond to ensure all staff members have access to student data needed to drive instruction. Given that her role covers a wide range of students, Ms. Altic does an excellent job preserving confidentiality and professionalism during meetings and PLCs. Her integrity and dedication to our campus help shape the future of our students’ educational pathway.

Ms. Newell is a very open communicator. She has open and honest conversations with teachers and parents to advocate for students and their needs. She gives all stakeholders an opportunity to be heard. She uses the information to make decisions, especially during ARD meetings. She delivers decisions professionally and respectfully, even when conversations are tough for some stakeholders to hear. She responds promptly to concerns and is always willing to lend a hand with behaviors and coach teachers to their capacity. She builds relationships with parents through effective communication. She is genuine in her conversations and builds trust through open and honest dialogue.

When a new student begins at Mrs. Robinson’s Life Skills class, a solid relationship built on trust and parent involvement also begins. As one of our Tradition Life Skills teachers, Kim Robinson has been a leader among leaders. Most recently, she stepped up as a mentor for a new Life Skills teacher on campus. Her communication with her team, administrators, students and parents is impeccable. Kim consistently responds to parents with empathy in a timely and consistent manner. For a parent to know exactly where their child is in skills and how to support them at home means that Mrs. Robinson shares openly to make sure all students succeed. This is not only true for what we see in Tradition, but Mrs. Robinson led training to parents of our community, communicating resources and ideas on how to support students at home as well. Kim maintains confidentiality as her highest priority when communicating student needs and advocates always seeing the ability, not the disability.

Growth is defined as the process of increasing in amount, value, or importance. Tradition Elementary 3rd Grade Teacher Stacy Kelly makes this definition a reality on a daily basis. Ms. Kelly encourages her students to believe in the power of yet and carves out time to hold individual conversations with her students to set goals and build a plan to increase performance. Stacy Kelly is a champion for her students, and she strives to ensure that her students know what they are learning, the purpose behind it, and how they will use the concept in the future. No matter where a student is academically, she makes sure to celebrate the small things and live out the never give up philosophy. Stacy’s passion for education goes beyond her classroom and infiltrates all of Tradition as Ms. Kelly models lessons to encourage other teachers. Ms. Kelly asks for immediate feedback from observations and from her peers, then uses the information to enhance her own practices. She self-reflects with a growth mindset and is always yearning to expand her skills and knowledge in education. Even parents of “Kelly’s Campers” can see that Ms. Kelly defines continuous growth and is regularly informed of their child’s progress, and Ms. Kelly shares ways to support their growth at home.

Ms. Lopez exhibits contentious growth in so many ways. Professionally, over the years, she has grown from an instructional assistant to a classroom teacher to a Special Education co-teacher as she follows her passion to be a lifelong learner. She works collaboratively with other SPED teachers and with her general education counterparts to ensure she is designing instruction that ensures student growth while focusing on student strengths. She tracks student data to create goals that are foundational for students, so they are successful in growing academically and behaviorally.

Teresa consistently demonstrates effective communication and ensures clarity around expectations. She does a great job at communicating effectively and is always providing clear communication and expectations. She is always willing to help in any way that she can to make the team as efficient and effective as possible. She strikes a delicate balance supporting everyone she works with while also not sugar-coating things. In fact, it is her candor that makes her both effective and supportive.

We are very fortunate to have Mr. Martinez on our team at CAST Lead High School. It is his first year in the classroom, and Mr. Martinez is continuously seeking feedback and implementing research-based best practices in his classroom.

Seventh-grade RLA Teacher and Instructional Facilitator, Elizabeth Trujillo, epitomizes continuous growth daily in all of her interactions with her students, her colleagues, and especially with herself. As the RLA Instructional Facilitator at Heritage MS, Elizabeth provides individualized continuous support for the teachers in her RLA department based on classroom visits and their professional growth goals. Elizabeth engages in ongoing professional development and turns her learning into bite-size PD for her department. As an IF, she works hard to coach the RLA department about high-leverage strategies, highlighting her department's strengths and identifying growth opportunities. She exhibits a growth mindset, and when given a new task, she is able to break it down into actionable steps (for example, the different trackers, data protocols etc). She also builds a growth mindset within the walls of her classroom, which is especially important in her classes with struggling learners.

Kasandra Payen is new to Legacy Middle School this year, but she has moved into her role as Grade/Content Level lead. She has ensured that not only her skills grow, but also makes sure all the teachers in her hallway meet and exceed campus expectations. Ms. Payen volunteered to lead a Professional Development team that would train teachers on best practices and strategies when working with Emergent Bilinguals in our classrooms. The students in her classes have scored higher in her content and grade level than they have been in the last five years. She leads her team by coaching and growing them so that students achieve. She is constantly seeking ways to grow and has asked to shadow our Assistant Principals so she can continue to grow in her leadership. She is a natural-born leader who knows the importance of continuous growth so that she is the best version of herself with her team, her hallway, and the campus and, ultimately, so that students achieve.

Mr. Scaglione shows a growth mindset no matter what situation he is faced with. He goes above and beyond when it comes to being data-informed. He uses data as a mirror to reflect as a teacher and his impact. His response is always to make instructional adjustments. He has created a detailed data tracker to determine how he will support his students. As a result, his students are experiencing significant gains!

Rummana Kilgore is an exemplary example who creates a safe and trusting environment with her colleagues and students. She is known for building personal relationships to help build trust in our community. She is seen as an expert in instruction and is asked to share her expertise by educators of all grade levels. They see her as knowledgeable, and this shows in the growth and results of her students every year. Mrs. Kilgore always thinks outside the box when she collaborates with her team. She presumes positive intent in everyone to move the campus forward. Mrs. Kilgore understands we all need to work as a team to achieve high-quality results. She continuously shares her vast knowledge with everyone. Mrs. Kilgore is not only open to input and feedback, but she is also reflective as well. She knows she can talk quite a bit on an instructional topic, so she mindfully gives others the opportunity to share their ideas first. Mrs. Kilgore makes sure the environment is safe where people, thoughts and ideas are welcomed, valued and utilized to improve achievement. She is an exemplary example of an individual who leads the EC Way.

Ms. Peavler exemplifies the definition of continuous growth. Ms. Peavler is constantly re-evaluating her teaching methods, and lesson plans to ensure that students are receiving all that they need to be successful in the classroom. She has stepped up to help lead her grade-level team and mentor a brand-new teacher. She regularly uses leading data to make adjustments based on each student's needs and has created new blended learning documents to assist the team. She regularly uses walkthrough feedback to make adjustments in her practice. She truly has a growth mindset and always does what is best for kids.

Ms. Parrish has been with the district for several years and has made a tremendous impact on our education system. She holds high expectations for her students by believing every student can learn and achieve and pushes them to be the best they can be. She holds herself to even higher standards. Last year, when we got our STAAR scores, we were so proud of her students. While she was also proud, she said she and her students could have done better. She meets with all students to hold goal conferences with them and does this throughout the school year. She also sets personal goals for herself to continually push herself to be better for her kids. She takes on leadership roles on the campus, such as mentoring teachers, and taking on additional students with no hesitation, and she gives up her lunchtime to work with students to continue pushing them to be the best they can be because she KNOWS they can. Another thing Ms. Parrish does where she exemplifies being Impact Focused is when something isn’t going as it should, she pivots and adjusts to meet the needs of not only her students but the campus. Ms. Parrish exemplifies grit, tenacity, and a relentless focus on student and campus achievement. Not only does she want the best for her students, but for ALL the students. Brock Chase is hands down the person that most consistently represents continuous growth at ECHS. In his new role, he approaches every day as a day to learn. Mr. Chase constantly seeks feedback and coaching. He displays a genuine desire to improve. He jumps in without hesitation and without being asked to help. We know that ECHS will continue to grow with and alongside Mr. Chase. He inspires all to be their very best!

Mrs. Page is student-driven and data-informed. Mrs. Page works above and beyond when it comes to student success and meeting the needs of each student individually. Mrs. Page participates in multiple campus committees where she engages in constant feedback on campus success. The teacher collaborates with the team and understands the need to focus on learning and the impact of teaching. Mrs. Page is consistently setting challenging targets for herself and the team to maximize student outcomes. Mrs. Page is a team player, has a positive mindset, and is driven toward student success.

Mrs. Wilkinson exhibits impact focus daily with her ability to focus on student strengths. Daily, Mrs. Wilkinson collects data to determine when students are the most successful. She then assists teachers and all staff members in creating the perfect conditions for students to be successful through a multitude of behavior strategies. She builds capacity in teachers by making and implementing various tools for students. Teachers feel supported and successful with all students when they partner with Mrs. Wilkinson.
