Student Standards of Dress
Campus administration will monitor the Standards of Dress on a regular basis. If a member of the campus administration staff determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s Standards of Dress, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, a member of the campus administration staff will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time.

| General Statement |
For student safety, dress should be appropriate to classroom settings and activities as determined by the campus principal. For example, open-toed footwear should not be worn in a shop class, but may be allowed in a typical classroom setting. |
Student dress on campus and at all school-related activities or events should demonstrate respectful representation of the ECISD student body and community. Clothing will have armpit to armpit coverage; shirt top length must cover back and torso with top length to the pant waistline. Pants/skirts/shorts must cover the entire bottom. |
ECISD students should present positive grooming and hygiene habits that reflect the responsible character and attitudes developed in our classrooms. |

Depictions of the following on clothing, personal items, or visible on the body: ● Drugs ● Alcohol ● Violence ● Profanity ● Discrimination ● Gory imagery ● Gangs ● Weapons ● Nudity |
Inappropriate exposure or hateful language, including specific items: ● Halter tops ● Crop top (unless touches top of pantline) ● Exposed midriff or back ● Strapless tops ● Sheer clothing or revealing bottoms ● See-through clothing ● Muscle shirts ● Holes above mid thigh covered at all times ● Head coverings and sunglasses at the discretion of the teacher in the classroom |
