Superstar Camp (PK-5th)

Superstar Camp is a dynamic summer program that combines academics and fun, aiming to keep students' minds and bodies active. This camp offers accelerated instruction in Math and Reading, exciting enrichment activities, and the added bonus of fun excursions for a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.

• Registration for any ECISD student interested in participating in Superstar Camp begins on March 18, 2024. Deadline to register is May 3, 2024. 
• Will be held at Sinclair Elementary
• May 29- June 27

  • Week 1: May 29-May 31  (Wednesday-Friday Classes) 

  • Weeks 2-4: June 3-June 27 (Monday -Thursday Classes. )

  • No Classes on Fridays.

• NO CLASSES on June 19, 2024 
• 7:45 a.m - 2:30 p.m.
• Breakfast @ 7:30 a.m. 
• There is NO COST to attend.
• This camp is for current (2023-2024 SY) PK-5th ECISD students only 
• ECISD provides transportation, breakfast and lunch.

Rising Star Camp (6th-8th)

Rising Star Camp provides middle school students with engaging instruction and enrichment opportunities. Participants will build crucial academic skills in literacy and math, preparing them for the challenges of the next grade level. In collaboration with Carnegie High Dosage Tutors, ECISD has partnered to enhance classroom learning through an interactive and personalized tutoring experience in literacy and math.

• Registration for any ECISD student interested in participating in Rising Star Camp begins on March 18, 2024. Deadline to register is May 19, 2023. 
• Will be held at Heritage Middle School
• June 3 - June 20 (M-TH); No Classes on Fridays
  • NO CLASSES on June 19, 2024
    • Morning Session: 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
    • Afternoon Session: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
    • Breakfast @ 7:30 a.m.  
    • Lunch @ 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Camp Explore

Camp Explore provides an affordable opportunity for students to participate in Sports and Enrichment camps. They are opened to all and carefully designed to create a safe and nurturing environment for campers to explore a wide range of activities. Campers  may enroll in a full or half-day program for any combination of activities they choose. For example, a camper may sign up for a morning of tennis camp and an afternoon of cooking or art.

Jr. Honeybees Camp

• Date: May 28-31
• Time: 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Check-in at 9 a.m.)
• Cost: $60.00 (T-shirt included)
• Location: South Campus Gym
• Description: Open to dancers ages 4-14. (Must be potty trained). Students will learn 7 fun energetic dance routines, enjoy games, snacks and coloring while bonding with our 2024-2025 Honeybees! Come dressed in any dance attire/wear tennis shoes or soft sole dance shoes.

Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery offers high school students a chance to earn credit for courses they did not succeed in during the 2023-2024 school year. Students have three options to participate in the credit recovery program.

• Option #1: Half-day onsite, Monday-Thursday; 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
• Option #2: Full-day onsite, Monday-Thursday; 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Option #3: Virtual & Onsite
• Students will have the opportunity to work on the courses virtually at a time convenient for them, either in the morning, night or weekends, but will be required to come onsite to take tests.
• Students must have access to the  following: computer or tablet, and the internet. ECISD will not provide these resources.
• Location: East Central High School - South Campus
• Dates: June 3 -  July 11
• NO CLASSES/ONSITE SUPPORT on June 19 and the Week of July 1-5.
   
• Summer school programming includes courses developed for academic intervention and credit recovery.  Any student interested in participating in Credit Recovery needs to complete the 2024 Summer Academic Opportunities Interest Form. This form serves solely to express your interest in having your child participate in credit recovery if it becomes necessary at the end of the year. It is not a registration form.  After a final review of academic progress, an ECISD representative will reach out to ensure your student is enrolled in the appropriate courses.

Standard Guidelines:     

• Hybrid Expectation/Requirements
  • Students must have access to a computer and the internet. ECISD will not provide these resources
  • Students who ARE NOT on pace/progressing/passing or following stated expectations,  will be required to attend onsite sessions
  • Students will be required to communicate with their assigned Credit Recovery teacher weekly. (M-TH)
• Payment does not guarantee credit attainment and only access to the curriculum and a SUMMER@ECISD Program teacher.
• Only available to currently registered East Central & CASTLead High School students. (No Algebra I Credit Recovery)

Specific  Program Descriptions   

• Credit Recovery: Edgenuity program is a 24/7 ONLINE program;   All students will be assigned a Summer@ECISD credit recovery teacher. Credit Recovery students are expected to show progress; Students may be dismissed from the program for lack of commitment.  All  Credit Recovery courses must be completed by July 11th;  Uncompleted courses will not be allowed to be continued into the 2024-2025 school year.

EOC Academy

EOC Academy is for 9th-10th grade students who did not achieve approaches on one or more portions of the STAAR End of Course (EOC) tests. Students will engage in test preparation courses to increase their chances of passing the next administration of the exam

P-TECH Summer Bridge

P-TECH Summer Bridge is for all students who have been accepted into P-TECH for the 2024-2025 school year.  All students are required to register using the link below.  Attendance by every P-TECH student is mandatory.  Breakfast and lunch will be served daily for all students. During P-TECH Summer Bridge,  students will complete Apply Texas, TSI testing, volunteer opportunities, lab activities, skill training, field trips, and dual credit preparation. 

Summer Bridge dates are June 3-6 and June 12-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Students will report to the John Glenn cafeteria upon arrival and will be picked up in the front of John Glenn at 3:30 p.m.
