Pre-K Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year

Pictures of Pre-K students

East Central ISD currently offers full-day Pre-K to ANY and ALL children who are four years of age on or before September 1, 2024 AND live in East Central ISD!

The district's Pre-K program aims to meet the needs of more students by offering a tuition-free option for 4-year-olds who don’t meet state eligibility requirements.  While the program is free for all families, they'll still need to fill out federally-required qualifying paperwork to enroll.

Pre-K registration is a TWO-PHASE process that begins after February 1, 2024. Most of the Pre-K registration process can be completed electronically. Please review the instructions provided below.

Phase 1: Complete online registrationStep 1:

Parents/Guardians will need to create an account at the ECISD ParentPortal before beginning the registration process.

Click HERE to access step-by-step instructions on how to create a ParentPortal account and enroll a new student.

Step 2:

Log into ParentPortal and click Enroll New Student. All registration forms must be completed. Applications will not be processed unless all forms are completed.

Parents/Guardians must upload the following required documents to the ParentPortal:

  • Child’s birth certificate

  • Valid picture ID of the parent/guardian enrolling the student

  • Child’s Social Security Card

  • Proof of residence (recent electric bill, current lease agreement or HOST form) Note: "Recent" means the document must be dated within 45 days

  • Child’s Shot Record

  • Additional Documentation/Qualification Criteria for Pre-K Students

While East Central ISD has committed to offering free Pre-K to ALL four-year-olds who live in the district, the state of Texas requires all school districts to identify and report to the state all students who would have met state qualifications for free Pre-K.

For this reason, parents/guardians are asked if their child has any qualifying criteria from the list HERE and must upload the required documentation, along with the required standard registration documents.

Your child’s enrollment will remain pending until the district receives all required documents.

Phase 2: Pre-K Round-Up/Campus AppointmentProviding Income Qualification Documentation/ Additional Documentation

  • Home Language Survey

  • Paystubs, etc after Apr 1, 2024

Your child’s enrollment will remain pending until the district receives all required documents.

Qualifying (TX eligibility criteria) and non-qualifying students will be accepted for the PreK-4 program if the child is 4-years-old by September 1.
