Mrs. Valerie Harber
My name is Valerie Harber and I am a Second Grade Teacher here at Highland Forest. This is my 18th year of teaching. I love being a teacher because I love to read and love to learn. It is my goal to impart the same love of learning to each of my students. When I am not at school I love to spend time with my husband and our two wonderful boys. We love to spend time together cookies, going to the coast, and watching movies. I am so excited that I have the opportunity to work each day with such a vibrant group of learners. I look forward to the educational journey that we will be embarking on during this 2020-2021 school year.
We will be starting school a little differently this year. Please know that this is a new journey for all of us and we will work through it all together. It is important for us to maintain frequent communication this year. You can reach me this year in many different ways. Please feel free to call or text me at (210) 802-9457. You can also email me at Valerie.harber @ecisd.net. You will also be able to keep updated with information through this webpage and Google Classroom. This year we will also be using a new communication tool called, class tag.
We will be using Google Classroom for all of our remote learning this year. All of your child's live and pre-recorded lessons can be found by logging in to Google classroom. We will also communicate frequently through your child's school email address. I am providing all students will there login cards and information at Meet the Teacher in their resource bags. Also below you will see our Google Classroom Code and our link for live instruction.
Please join me at our drive-thru Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 14th from 8-10 and 4-6:30 in the bus circle located at the back of the school. I will be briefly saying hello and handing out materials for you to be successful with your remote learning.
