Mr. Donald L. Lacy IV

Mr. Lacy is the Associate Director of Bands at Heritage Middle School.  He was raised in Killeen, Texas, where he started playing the trombone with the Palo Alto Middle School band.  He attended Ellison Ninth Grade Center and performed with the Ellison High School Screaming Eagle Band.  The following year, Robert M. Shoemaker High School opened and he went on to become a 3-year drum major for the Shoemaker High School Grey Wolf band.  After high school, Mr. Lacy attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where he received his Bachelor of Music degree.  While at Texas State he participated in the Bobcat Marching Band, Basketball Band, Concert band, Symphonic Band, and the Men's Choir.  Prior to joining the Heritage Hurricane family, he was the Assistant Band Director at Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio ISD.  Mr. Lacy is now starting his fifth year at Heritage, where he directs the Honor and Symphonic II bands, assists with the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic I Band, and teaches beginner brass classes.  He holds memberships in the Texas Music Educator's Association (TMEA), the Texas Bandmaster's Association (TBA), Technology Institute of Music Education (TI:ME), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  Mr. Lacy resides in New Braunfels with his wife, Melissa, and their son, Donald.
