About Special Education Services

  • The East Central ISD Special Education Services supports students with disabilities in gaining college and career readiness, and independent living skills through active engagement in grade level curriculum.

These services are provided in general education or special education settings with accommodations, modifications, special education supports, supplementary aids, and other arrangements.

The special education team identifies and provides an appropriate education for all individuals from ages 3 to 21 who qualify for the district’s special education services.

The team also supports the East Central ISD mission of ensuring children who receive special education services are provided with access to a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) in order to receive a quality education that enables them to participate in future social, economic, and educational opportunities.
