Mrs. Judith Sanchez Higgins

 Welcome to my class!

My name is Judith Sanchez-Higgins.  I am from the Highlands of Oaxaca, Mexico and I belong to the Mixe tribe which is one of the indian groups in Mexico.  My fist language is the Mixe language, Spanish is my second language and English is my third language. I studied Journalism at the Autonomous University of Mexico(UNAM).  In 1995, I moved to Los Angeles California where I worked in the sweat shops for a couple of years and I studied English. In the year of 2000 I moved to san Antonio, Texas to study my master degree in Bilingual Education Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).  I have been a teacher for sixteen years and I have taught in the Bilingual Education early and late exit, in the Spanish immersion program and in the dual language program. I believe that all students can learn and excel. I am excited to be your child's teacher.
