Mrs. Belinda De Luna

Hi Everyone! My name is Belinda Ann De Luna and I am a 4th Grade ELAR teacher here at Highland Forest. My partner teacher is Brittany Dowda and she will be teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies. This is my second year in the district, but my 27th year in education. I served as an instructional reading coach for 4 years before returning to my  first love- the classroom. I am really excited about working with your children and learning and growing together. We will soon be family!

My Schooling

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development from UT Austin-GO Longhorns! I also earned a Master's of Arts degree in Education from The University of the Incarnate Word- Go Cardinals! We never stop learning so I am sure that your children will teach me a lot this year as well.

My Family

I am the proud mother of a soon to be 9 year old son, Luke, and I feel blessed to be the wife of an extraordinary, loving husband, Paul. We also added a beagle to our family this past February; his name is Jordan.

Hobbies

I LOVE all types of reading- digital, books, magazines, etc. My favorite adult author is John Grisham and my favorite children's author is Kevin Henkes! I also enjoy traveling, shopping and Diet Dr. Pepper =)

Communication

This year, our school's main form of contact will be Class Tag. We will use Class Tag for school and classroom announcements and pictures. If you haven't joined Class Tag, please reach out to us.

Meet the Teacher

This year, Meet the Teacher will be curbside! Please remain in your vehicles with masks on. We can NOT wait to meet you and your children but we would like to do it safely. Our designated day to meet is Wednesday, August 12, 2020.  You will have the opportunity to briefly meet us and receive a resource packet, which will provide you with visuals and other important materials that will help your child during remote learning. You can come by from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or from 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Once you arrive, follow the signs in front of the school and provide your child's name and my name when you are greeted at your car door.
