Welcome to the Heritage ELAR department. Reading and writing are life long skills. We aim to inspire students and help them develop a love of reading and writing by engaging in a variety of meaningful literacy experiences. We promote students’ ownership and investment in developing their literacy and language skills. We encoiurage all students to enhance their own abilities to contribute as engaged members of a collaborative classroom community, a productive citizen, and someday a contribuiting member of the workforce.
Parents, The English Language Arts & Reading department is always here to assist if you should ever need any help with guiding your child to pick a "just right " book, learn a new strategy for comprehension, or building writing stamina and creativity. Do not hesitate to contact us! We are here to help! In the meantime keep books in the hands of students.
