Mary Alice Gomez
For the last eight years, I have served as the proud principal of Heritage Middle School. Prior to HMS, I was a teacher, assistant principal, and academic dean for 20 years in 4 different high schools, including East Central HS. Working at HMS is not only an honor but a privilege. Our students are amazing young people with many talents and interests. We strive to meet the individual academic needs of our kids by providing a variety of opportunities from our Special Education programming to our Gifted and Talented courses. We also know students who are actively involved in extra-curricular activities are also more likely to be successfull academically and thus offer many programs such as UIL athletics, UIL academics, Band, Choir, Theater Arts, Art, Student Council, Robotics, Future Business Leaders of America, Odyssey of the Mind, History Fair, etc.
Our vision at HMS is to educate and instill the value of safety, respect, and responsibility to ensure that our students are college and career ready by inspiring, challenging, and empowering our students to be persistent problem solvers by reading for understanding, evaluating critically across disciplines, and developing oral and written communication skills. We understand that you entrust us every day with your children and I want you to know that we value your trust and ultimately our goal is that every student grows academically at least one year from where they started at the beginning of the school year.
I proudly serve the EC community and value your feedback. I can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 210-634-6500.
