Welcome, Legacy Middle School Teen Leadership, Yearbook and Journalism students!

I am so excited about meeting my new students and seeing my returning students.  In my classes, I strive to create a family environment where students feel safe and respected!  I encourage students to share ideas without the fear of being judged.

In Teen Leadership, students learn about taking personal responsibility, learn how to better express themselves and learn how to make good decisions when problems arise.  In Yearbook, staff members learn how to properly take pictures, learn about layout and design, deadlines and marketing.  In journalism, students learn how to write to target audiences, evaluate news and news sources and keep up with current events.

A little about me -- I have worked at ECISD for 11 years and have been a teacher at Legacy for 9 years.  I have also worked as a Social Media Coordinator for US Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany.  I earned my Bachelors degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University, College Station.  I have been married for 29 years and my husband also works here at Legacy as the Social Studies 6th - 8th grade Social Studies Humanities Teacher and is a coach.  I have two amazing kids, who are both EC graduates!
