Welcome to American Sign Language.

My name is Julia Stautzenberger. I am the ASL teacher at East Central. Welcome to American Sign Language at East Central High School. This class will have a vigorous curriculum of American Sign Language, ASL linguistics and grammar, Deaf Culture, and History. ASL students will complete the school year with the basic communication skills needed to communicate with a deaf and hard of hearing people. While we are going to work hard, we will also have some fun.

Things you should know going into this class:

Students will not be allowed to voice in class, except for on certain assignments.

Students will have regularly recorded (video) performances.

Students will regularly view other student videos and provide feedback. (Respectful feedback)

Students will be using a great deal of technology in class. (As of right now, I will not allow students to use their own technology in my classroom.)

Monday: Afternoon 4:05-5:00
Tuesday: Morning 7:45-8:30
Wednesday: Afternoon 4:05-5:00
Thursday: Morning 7:45-8:30
Friday: No tutoring on Friday
