    Dear Parents,

Our mission at Salado is, Always Learning, Always Growing! or ¡Siempre Aprendiendo, Siempre Creciendo!  We at Salado have been focusing on how together with our staff, students, families, and community we will work together for the success of our students.  Thank you so much for entrusting us with your children.  The EC Way is to always strive for growth and excellence. We appreciate your support and look forward to partnering with you this year.
Salado Elementary is home to two schools, a Dual Language Academy and the East Central Leadership Academy. The East Central ISD Dual Language Two-Way Immersion Program (80/20 model) is an educational model that integrates native English speakers and Spanish speakers for the entire school day. The goals of two-way immersion education at ECISD are:

    • To promote high academic achievement for all students

    • To develop first and second language skills

    • To promote-cross cultural understanding for all students

Language learning will take place primarily through content instruction in the two-way immersion program. Academic subjects will be taught to all students in both English and Spanish. As students and teachers work to perform academic tasks, the student's language abilities are developed, along with their knowledge of the content area subject matter.
The East Central Leadership Academy provides unique learning experiences for students through a Project-Based Learning model that incorporates blending technology and classroom instruction. Service learning, career exploration, and leadership development are the cornerstones of our academy. The East Central Leadership Academy strives to build the global leaders of tomorrow. Our goal is for all students to have access to a high-quality education by being present and on time every day ready to learn.
The East Central Independent School District is committed to student growth.  To achieve this goal, we are committed to having administrators in classrooms two full days every week to improve teaching and learning.  As a result of being in classes so often, we may not always be immediately available to you; however, your communication is important to us.  If you have a question about a particular class, please contact the teacher directly, as we have found that is the most effective way to clarify issues.  You can find the teachers’ emails on the Salado website. If you need to schedule a time to talk to an administrator at Salado, please contact the appropriate secretary, as she handles the administrator’s calendar.  She will find an appropriate time for us to talk. 210-648-3310.
Thank you for your continuous support of Salado Elementary School and East Central Independent School District.  You are a valued partner in your child’s education.  The implementation of these practices will enhance our ability to strengthen student learning in our district.

    Sincerely,

    Teresa Triana
