Mrs. Theresa Tillotson
Welcome to Colloquium! I teach the social studies portion of Colloquium from 10th-12th grade in tandem with Dr. Laura Aten who teaches the English portion. We use a humanities based approach to provide an enriched learning experience for East Central High School's Gifted and Talented population throughout their high school career. In Social Studies, our students take Advanced Placement classes starting in their freshmen year, and progressing through both AP World History and AP United States History during their sophomore and junior years, and finally, taking AP American Government AND AP Macroeconomics their senior year. The social studies curriculum is integrated in a cross curricular fashion with our students' English classes, which are Pre-AP for freshmen and sophomore year, AP Language and Composition junior year, and finally AP Literature and Composition in the senior year. Over the course of our students' four years in Colloquium, they will have the opportunity to earn college credit through seven different Advanced Placement exams offered at the end of each AP course year. We expect our students to be challenged, and we also expect them to succeed! We look forward to helping enrich their high school experience!
