About the Project

Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education) is a partnership between East Central ISD, Communities in Schools, and local mental health agencies that promotes student wellness and emotional resiliency. The initiative focuses on increasing mental health awareness, providing staff training, and connecting students and families to the support and resources they need to succeed in school and life.

  • Our Goal
    • The goal of Project EC AWARE is to build a strong, sustainable districtwide mental health program that offers the East Central ISD community access to education, training, counseling, and wraparound support services.

This work relies on collaboration with key stakeholders—including parents, students, staff, community members, and mental health professionals—who help identify needs and guide our efforts. Their participation on the advisory board reflects a shared commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of every student across all ECISD campuses.

  • Mission
    • Our mission is to develop and sustain an integrated, multi-tiered system of support that promotes mental health, wellness, and advances the resilience of students in the family, education, and community settings.

  • Vision
    • Our vision is to establish a comprehensive school mental health system that utilizes both school and community-based supports, ensuring that all students have access to positive, safe, and supportive school environments that foster resilience and academic success.
