Health Services

Our mission is to advocate for a healthy school community and to promote optimum health and safety for academic success.Every elementary school clinic in East Central ISD is staffed with a registered nurse. The high school and middle schools have both a registered nurse and a health assistant. The nurse provides first aid, administers medication, and performs medical procedures as directed by a physician. The nurse does not diagnose illnesses, but assesses signs and symptoms and notifies the parent/guardian of findings when necessary. The health assistant assists the nurse with any clinic duties needed along with clerical duties.
