• Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD)

We provide educational services for deaf and hard of hearing students from East Central ISD through Shared Service Arrangement (SSA) with San Antonio ISD.

East Central ISD serves students with auditory impairment by providing educational challenges and opportunities which empower them to become productive and independent individuals.

Since hearing impairment is such a low incidence population, the state set up Regional Day School Programs for the Deaf so that local districts shall have access to services. Any student who has a hearing impairment which severely impairs processing linguistic information through hearing, even with recommended amplification, and which adversely affects educational performance shall be eligible for consideration for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, subject to the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee recommendations.
