Our Mission
The custodial services department will provide
a clean, orderly, safe, cost-effective, and
instructionally supportive school environment that
contributes to the school district's mission of
educating our children to meet the intellectual,
physical, and emotional demands of the 21st
century. |

The Image Makers
The "face" each school in East Central Independent
School District shows to teachers, students, and
visitors depends largely upon the work performed by
the custodial team. Many visitors receive their
entire impression of schools from the standards of
cleanliness maintained by the custodial staff. More
importantly, the effectiveness of the education
programs depends largely upon safe, clean and
orderly surroundings that allow students and
teachers to gain the full advantage of the academic
and technical facilities that our school system
offers.

Custodial Services Provided
* Performs routine cleaning procedures for 523
classrooms, 198 restrooms, 97 miscellaneous rooms,
16 locker rooms, 10 libraries, 11 cafeterias, 4
band rooms, 13 gyms, 160 offices, and 1 stadium for
a total of 1,052,392 square feet maintained and
cleaned on a daily basis.
* Conducts an on-going quality control program
to evaluate and implement new and innovative
housekeeping techniques. Assesses custodial and
equipment performance and formulates methods to
improve labor efficiency and building
sanitation.

Custodial Services Provided
* Performs more extensive cleaning during
periodic special projects. All furniture, ceilings,
light fixtures, walls, windows, chalkboards,
gymnasiums, parking lots and rooms are cleaned. All
floors are stripped or top scrubbed and refinished,
and carpets are shampooed.
*Conducts an active in-service training program
to increase effectiveness and introduce new
products or methods.
